Belly Laughs
I’m baaaccckkkkk!!!! I hope everyone had a terrific weekend
because I know I sure did. It consisted of rest and relaxation (kinda).
Anyway I have a funny story to share and the reason for this
blog post. So last week when I was starting this blog I got really mad at
Shawn, my fiancĂ©, I honestly don’t even remember what the fight was about, I’m a
tad bit over dramatic. Well… when we were fighting I was laying in our spare
bedroom trying to act all pissed off of coarse and here comes Shawn strolling into
the bedroom trying to apologize and tell me he’s sorry. All of a sudden I just
bust out laughing. I’m laughing so hard that I start to cry because I’m laughing
so hard, Shawn asks me if I’m ok because he doesn’t know if I’m laughing or
crying and all I could manage to say was both. We’re now both laughing so hard that
when we finally get a hold of ourselves I look over at Shawn and say, “I can’t
remember the last time I laughed that hard.” Now isn’t that just plain sad, we
as humans get so caught up over money, jobs, kids, whatever, you name it, that
we forget why we fell in love to begin with. It’s no wonder that divorce rate
is so prevalent, we forget to laugh and enjoy moments like that with our
spouse’s or significant others. Like most fights with spouses we get so caught
up in the fact that we have to be “right” in an argument we forget to just
enjoy each other.
From that tiny moment I realized I had let misery get the
best of me and I wasn’t enjoying what life is supposed to offer. From that
moment on I vowed to remember this situation, I’m only human so I’m sure I’ll
fall short of it sometimes but I vow to stay in love with Shawn, that we will
remember to slow down and have a belly laugh with each other, that we will
remember to keep each other first priority, and that we will love each other
unconditionally. Shawn and I this last weekend decided to do a few fun things
in Lincoln that we haven’t done because we have been to “busy” to do. Here are a few of those things…
